It was a crystal clear Autumn day at the 2013 Talkeetna Brewfest. The festival is a benefit event for the Northern Susitna Institute, a collaborative nonprofit educational organization based in Talkeetna. The small town north of Anchorage is a welcoming, tight-knit community. The festival felt like a small get together of good friends in a cozy cabin, complete with a band jamming away in the loft. A fine selection of local craft breweries were on hand for the event including King Street, 49th State, Broken Tooth, Kenai River, Denali, HooDoo, Alaskan, Arkose, Silver Gultch, Glacier, Kassik’s, Midnight Sun, Anchorage and more. A great time was had by all. -JJ
To mark this momentous occasion, the boys are partying with the crew at 49th State Brewing Company’s Augtoberfest in Healy today. 49th State has six German-inspired beers on tap for this event on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Coincidentally, I am celebrating the fruition of all our hard work from afar in Berlin and will be promoting the app at the 17th International Berlin Beer Festival featuring about 320 breweries from 86 countries. Photos to come.
JJ has The Beer Up Here hoodies, shirts and stickers for sale, all printed in Alaska, so come get some merch!
Click here to download The Beer Up Here and use your fancy new app to decide what frosty beverage you want at 49th State!
Prost! Na zdrowie! Cheers!
